The Municipality of Ikaria denounces the attempted telephone fraud through its Facebook account. The attempt was made to a professional of the island, who was asked for money, as owed due to his cooperation with the island’s Nursing Home. Fortunately, the professional realized that something was wrong and informed the services of the Municipality, where the attempted fraud was reported.
The Municipality of Ikaria draws attention to the citizens and emphasizes that the services of the Municipality will never request such information or data by phone.
The Police have been informed on the issue, the municipal authority will take legal action to protect its citizens and the Municipality, the announcement concludes.
